Estonia now has 15 state institutions and nine private universities. English is widely spoken in Estonia, and most colleges offer a wide range of English-taught degrees. You can study in English at ten of them.

Tallinn is home to the majority of these institutions, including Tallinn University and Tallinn University of Technology. However, the country's largest and frequently best-ranked institution is located in Tartu, the country's second-largest city: the University of Tartu.

Bachelor's degrees typically take three years to complete, whereas master's degrees typically take two years to complete. Medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, architecture, and civil engineering all need a single 5- to 6-year study that often results in a master's level diploma. Doctoral degrees are postgraduate research degrees that take 3-4.5 years to complete.

The school year starts in September. The deadline for admission varies based on the university, program, and whether you are an EU/EEA or non-EU/EEA student.

Is IELTS a requirement for studying in Estonia?
All globally recognized language competence exams (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL) are accepted, while individual language examinations may be administered by particular universities. The minimum IELTS Band required at this Estonian institution is 5.5 for a Bachelor's degree and 6.0 for a Master's degree.

What are the prerequisites for admission to Estonian universities?
Students from Sri Lanka who intend to undertake bachelor-level courses must have earned their GCE A-Levels or an equivalent academic level required for higher education. Applicants must be able to pursue further education in their home country. Additional qualifying tests may be necessary for admission to Estonian higher education institutions.

Applicants seeking master's-level studies must have finished bachelor's-level studies, while those seeking doctoral-level studies must have completed master's-level studies.

What is the tuition cost at Estonian universities?
Tuition rates for Bachelor's and Master's programs at public institutions in Estonia range from 1,660 and 7,500 EUR every academic year. However, tuition at some universities is greater for non-EU/EEA nationals.
